THE WAR AT THE SHORE

vs THE LONDON METRO POLICE DEPT.

FRIDAY JULY 8th, 2016

The FDNY Boxing Team came out on top in this one, unlike the last match against an overseas opponent.

The turn-out by the Rockaway crowd was phenomenal. The rains subsided and the match went on as planned.The FDNY providing lighting with generated power lights that lit up the backyard of St.Camillus. It was a most entertaining night.

Picture links are provided on this page as well as on the "Inside TheRing" page (with Video as well). The 50/50 pulled in $5,480.00.

One lucky winner went home with $2,740.00.

The proceeds will go to Building Homes For Heroes.

At intermission USMC Corporal Kevin Vaughan was introduced as the Special Guest of Honor.

He accepted, on behalf of BH4H,

two checks from previous bouts, of $5,000.00 and $10,000.00.

Kevin was then invited  by the FDNY Pipe Band

into their "Ring of Honor"

The Proceeds were from the Battle of The Badges Match in November of 2015:

On Friday November 20th, 2015 at the 33rd Annual Battle of the Badges Boxing Match, we honored USMC Gunnery Sgt. Chris Claude. He has been a member of the USMC since 1998 serving as Field Artillery Radar Leader, A Marine Recruiter and a Field Artillery Operations Chief. He was injured on 2/20/06 in Iraq;

"while on patrol as a military advisor to the Iraqi Police, Chris' team was ambushed by an Iraqi Improvised Explosive Device where he lost his right leg, left thumb, sustained numerous broken bones, burns and shrapnel wounds." He also suffered a traumatic brain injury. Look inside
